Research Interests:

I am conducting a historically & theoretically informed comparative analysis of literary, filmic, media, & polemical texts representing the place of Islam & the descendants of North African immigrants in France post-2005. Current interests include portrayals of the role played by France's political class in structuring debates around this subject; representations of veiling; & the role of the European project in French & European Islamophobia.
