The Stuff of Research is a new collaborative doctoral training programme designed to equip you with robust theoretical & practical approaches to material culture. Two 2-day sessions of talks & workshops with academics, curators, archivists & artists will unlock Scotland's collections & illuminate key questions & methodologies.

An accompanying series of masterclasses will broadcast leading national & international voices in the field of material culture studies. We are honoured to announce that Professor Ivan Gaskell of the Bard Graduate Centre in New York will preside over a student-led Symposium to be held on Monday 12 June 2017 in the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow.

Training will take place in Glasgow & Edinburgh on 31 October - 1 November 2016 & 8 - 9 February 2017. You are expected to come to both two-day sessions as well as the symposium.
