‌As a new PhD student, you are automatically a member of SGSAH. To celebrate the start of your study we would like to invite you to our welcome event on Friday 11th November 2016, 1130-1600 at the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh.

We are the world's first national graduate school in the arts & humanities & our membership includes sixteen Scottish universities, from the oldest to the newest & including our four art schools & national conservatoire. We cover Scotland's geography from the Highlands & Islands to the Scottish Borders, & we work with a wide range of supporters from the arts, culture, creative & heritage sectors.

On the day you can find out what's available to you through our funding competitions, training events, doctoral internships & artist-in-residence opportunities, & forge new connections with other doctoral researchers from across Scotland. You can also meet current PhD students who will be demonstrating their research through exhibitions & displays, hear some stories which will hopefully inspire you, & meet us, the SGSAH staff who will be on hand to answer your questions.

Lunch will be provided & travel expenses from your home HEI will be reimbursed
