The Scottish Graduate School for Arts & Humanities (SGSAH) is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Theresa McKinven as Director.

Theresa’s strong commitment to enhancing the experience of doctoral researchers, internationalisation, equality, and inclusivity has been built through a wide variety of experience in UK and international HE, most recently as Head of the Postgraduate Office of the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences at the University of Edinburgh, and prior to that as Vice-Principal and Senior Tutor at Ustinov College, Durham University.

‘I’m delighted to have joined such a distinctive and forward-looking organisation, with strong values promoting the very best in doctoral education in the arts & humanities. SGSAH is already recognised as being a leading organisation in developing Scotland’s arts & humanities research capacity.  I’m looking forward to working with our members and partners at SGSAH on the next phase of our development, ensuring the best experience for doctoral researchers, developing stronger links with international arts & humanities research communities, and strengthening our existing commitment to equality and inclusivity’.

As Director, Theresa will develop and implement the policies of the SGSAH, providing leadership to our initiatives and furthering the variety of work currently being done in the sector by the SGSAH.
