Deadline for applications: 8 September 2016 10am

Do you have an interest in literature? Are you an aspiring critic? The Scottish Review of Books Emerging Critics course is for you.

In the last 15 years over a third of Scots have stopped reading printed daily newspapers. Many hundreds of journalists have lost their jobs, most of our finest critics amongst them. At a time when we have never needed criticism more, our critics are losing the power of voice.

But new platforms for criticism are appearing, and new styles are developing. New critics are emerging.
Are you one of them?

Engage with some of the finest critics working in Scotland today & develop your existing skills through a free mentoring programme.

APPLY FOR THE SCOTTISH REVIEW OF BOOKS MENTORING PROGRAMME:

This opportunity will allow PhD students to work closely with mentors over the course of several months from Autumn 2016 - Spring 2017. Mentors will include professional literary critics such as Alan Taylor, Rosemary Goring, & David Robinson.
