This month we're highlighting two opportunities for non-academic partner organisations: an information session on SGSAH Collaborative PhD Partnerships and a call for internship host organisations. If you know of colleagues, partner organisations or contacts who may be interested, we'd greatly appreciate you sharing these opportunities with them.
Thinking about a Collaborative PhD Partnership?
Join SGSAH on 15 September, 2.00-3.00pm (online) for a practical information session on applying for an SGSAH collaborative PhD.
This session is designed for non-academic partner organisations and academic colleagues interested in supervising Partnership PhDs, offering an opportunity to learn more about SGSAH's collaborative PhD programmes and the support available to prospective applicants.
The session will include:
- An introduction to SGSAH's collaborative PhD programmes from Professor Maria Fusco, Director of SGSAH
- Advice and guidance on developing a future application
- A live Q&A with SGSAH colleagues
Whether you're exploring a potential partnership or planning to apply for collaborative doctoral funding in the future, this session is a great opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable insight into the process.

Call for Internship Host Organisations
Interested in working with a doctoral researcher?
SGSAH is inviting non-academic organisations to submit proposals to host a doctoral researcher through our funded internships and creative residencies programme.
Could your organisation benefit from a skilled researcher for the equivalent of eight weeks full-time? Our popular programme supports flexible full-time or part-time placements, connecting host organisations with talented PhD researchers based at Scottish institutions.
We are also seeking proposals for creative residencies, offering organisations the opportunity to work with doctoral researchers in practice-based and creative disciplines.
Placements are expected to commence from January 2027, with flexibility around timing where appropriate.
