Creative Arts and Design Discipline+ Catalyst
Building on ‘Reading & Writing Place’, hosted by the Literature Catalyst at the University of Stirling in November 2021, the Creative Arts & Design Catalyst will present an afternoon of talks by practitioners and researchers who root their current projects in specific locational contexts.
This two day event restages elements of the course in commercial and précis writing followed by Muriel Spark at Heriot-Watt College in 1934. A contextualising presentation and panel discussion about the craft of writing/Spark’s editorial practice, will be followed by practical workshops based on the syllabus and textbook she used.
- Putting Theory into Practice
Through plenary sessions featuring three plenary speakers, and three workshops led by PhD students undertaking practice-based degrees, or recent graduates of those degrees, we will explore three strands of creative practice as informed by theory: film and visual culture, creative writing and music composition.
A series of presentations by Scottish based and international academics in a roundtable/panel format with moderated discussion focussing on the use of re-enactment as a methodology in research.
When published, all event details and registration links will be found on the SGSAH Events and Training page.
