The session will feature a short framing lecture, and then present different sorts of examples of (creative) practice research that have been used within research contexts. This is way of working has become more popular in the past decade, and the event will explore the distinctions between 'practice-led' and 'practice-based' research, and the benefits and drawbacks of these approaches. It will also encourage participants to reflect on their ontological/epistemological stances in regards to their own research, and if/how (creative) practice research could be inserted into their project, and the hows/why’s this might be a useful approach. It will end with a short micro-workshop where PhD candidates could include creative research within their own study.
