This workshop is aimed at researchers in theory-heavy subjects who want to broadcast their ideas and findings in a more easily accessible way to the wider public. Three academic professionals who provide educational academic content on YouTube will deliver this workshop over two virtual half-day sessions. They will introduce participants to different strategies of adapting complex research content, using a visual and creative format. The skills gained through this workshop are highly relevant for academic and non-academic careers alike. As a result of this training, participants will enhance their capabilities to increase public engagement and research impact.
Participants will work in small groups on the design and creation of an educational video related to their research projects, while practicing how to work together in a transdisciplinary team with varying topic knowledge and skill sets.
