Northern Early Modern Network Conference

The Edinburgh Early Modern Network is proud to host the first annual conference of the Northern Early Modern Network 20th-21st July 2020.

The Northern Early Modern Network will be launched at the conference. It will provide a forum for postgraduate students and early career researchers based in Scotland and the North of England who are researching any aspect of the early modern period (c.1450-1800).

We are pleased to confirm that Professor Helen Smith, of the University of York, will deliver one of our Keynote Papers, on innovative research methods in early modern studies, for this inaugural conference.

Postgraduate research students studying the early modern period are invited to present a 20-minute paper on their research. The paper could be an overview of the project, or one aspect of the research. Alternatively, papers on innovative research methodology in the field of early modern studies are also welcome. Papers from any discipline are welcome. Speakers from outside Edinburgh will be awarded a £25 travel bursary.

If you are interested in presenting your research at the conference, please email a 250-word abstract and a brief biography to early.modern@ed.ac.uk by 14th April -- (Please note this deadline has now passed).
