Podcast Your PhD

Deadline 31/7

Event Date: 9/9

Location: Stirling

Applications are now open for Podcast Your PhD, a free one-day academic podcasting masterclass supported by the Scottish Graduate School for Arts and Humanities to be held in Stirling this September.

The day is split into two sessions:

Structuring, writing, presenting and distributing academic podcasts.

Led by University of Edinburgh academic podcasters Frank Cogliano and David Silkenat

Frank Cogliano and David Silkenat host The Whiskey Rebellion, an American History podcast offering historical and international perspectives on current events in America and the world. Cogliano and Silkenat, along with special guests, are approaching their 100th episode, having already covered such diverse topics as the Trump inauguration, ‘Brexit for Americans’, and Star Wars. The Whiskey Rebellion is a fantastic demonstration of academic podcasting with hosts who are as entertaining as they are informing.

Podcasting equipment, recording, editing and publishing podcasts.

Led by music-industry podcaster Halina Rifai

Halina Rifai co-founded Lost Art Agency in 2018, a team of practitioners who collaborate on bespoke campaigns and offer numerous services under one roof. She developed Podcart, a music and blog podcast, in 2009 which has led to writing jobs with various publications.  Halina also works as a regular contributor to several BBC Radio Scotland programmes. She has been podcasting for over 10 years and now delivers workshops and produces podcasts for organisations and companies.

All participants will require their own laptop, headphones and either smartphone/microphone/handheld recording device. All software required for the workshop is free.

Details will be sent to successful applicants prior to the masterclass.
