Training programme develops skills for researchers working with sound archives

SGSAH piloted a successful training programme in February for doctoral researchers in arts and humanities working with sound archives. The three-day programme was developed in partnership with the Connecting Scotland’s Sounds Project at the National Library of Scotland and included training in sound archiving, co-creation of archives with communities, and public engagement skills.

Lorna Hill, a second year Creative Writing PhD student at the University of Stirling, developed a bid for student-led training which ultimately led to a group of domestic abuse survivors creating an award-nominated piece of writing.
