A review of current practice around the time of death, burial & remembrance. How do current Scottish cultures physically deal with laying their loved ones to rest? How do individuals & different cultures within Scottish society mourn for & remember the dead?

Auchindrain Trust

Auchindrain is looking for motivated people to suggest project to benefit the Trust in the areas such as archival research, genealogy, historical geography & archaeology, broadening an understanding of how Auchindrain aligns with established understandings of township evolution & the progress of agricultural improvement. The museum can also offer opportunities for those whose interests lie in the interpretation & public presentation of history, archaeology or farming.

BBC Scotland Radio Music

Project title: Exploring links/interaction between BBC Scotland Radio Music, audiences & Scotland’s music festivals. The successful candidate will work with senior radio staff, across BBC & BBC Scotland; production staff; concert organisers; audience members, to offer an assessment of, the dynamic between recorded, broadcast output & the experience of audiences of live output, with a view to suggesting ways in which broadcast output might be enhanced to offer better audience experiences.

BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra

Project title: Application of creative musical responses, with & without notation, to non-specialist teachers in the context of the BBC Ten Pieces initiative. The orchestra is involved in the BBC’s Ten Pieces project, which seeks to open up the world of classical music to children. Ten Pieces is in essence a project about appreciation through participation.

Royal Scottish National Orchestra

Project title: Understanding RSNO audiences. The aim of the RSNO internship project is to gain a greater understanding of RNSO audience behaviour to inform strategies & tactics in relation to audience engagement with the Orchestra. The objectives are to ascertain particular gaps in current RSNO research strategy, to pilot new research approaches that enable a more nuanced understanding of current attenders & members motivations, perceptions of the RSNO amongst less regular & non-attenders.

Northlight Heritage

Northlight is looking for an intern to help to develop an ambitious & multi-faceted, heritage-inspired project, focused on the Molendinar Burn, the original wellspring of the City of Glasgow but now a largely (physically) hidden & forgotten part of the city. The overarching project offers scope for an intern to contribute to the whole &/or to assist with the researching, design & (potentially) implementation of what is currently envisaged as the main armature of the project.
